"I thought of everything, everything. How did it go wrong? Everything was factored, all the variables accounted. The plan, the plan was perfect, everyone handled. Even the setbacks, they were my setbacks. I had it all, all of it in my hands. How did I lose, I couldn't lose. Couldn't lose, couldn't lose."
Rocking back and forth gently, sitting with his legs cn his cot while the straight jacket forced him to hug himself, the man that was The Calculator was a shell of his former self. He had almost won, he had gotten so close. Then it was all ripped away from him, he couldn't even remember who Oracle was. He knew that he did know it, but now he didn't. That was the worst. He had his greatest dream realized and now? Now he had nothing, sitting in Arkham.
"But it's not over, it's never over. This is nothing, nothing. I'll get something else, a new plan. I'll think of something and then it'll all be right again. I'll still win, i've come close, i'll just re-examine everything. I'll do it and then i'll finally win."

"You lost, Kuttler. Face it."
Nightwing stepped out of the shadows somewhat, his upper body was still concealed. He stood there, staring down at Kuttler whom had been speaking to himself. Disgust. That's what filled Dick's heart right now. Disgust. This man had taken away Tim's family...and countless of other innocents. And here he was in defeat, still trying to convince himself that he could win. After the thousands of innocents who still lie in the Gotham streets, he still wanted more bloodshed. A butcher has more compassion.

"DICK! Dicky boy, Dick a rooni, how lovley of you to visit! I would have cleaned up but the staff here does it for me. How is everything going? I see you're still able to stand, I guess you've gotten use to blood loss. What is the reason behind this visit and after hours at that. Quite unlike you to break the law."
With a grin on his face, the old Noah Kuttler seemed to come back somewhat. While he wasn't insane, post traumatic stress the doctors said, Arkham was deemed the best place to hold him. Of course it also meant he could most likely expect alot of visits from Gotham's more exciting nightlife. Including Nightwing.
"How's little Timmy doing? I wanted to send him a card but can you believe they don't have a 'To bad your parents died, sucks to be you' card? What is hallmark thinking I ask you. I'll have to give him my regards once I get out it seems."

He stepped from the shadows in the corner of the room more so, walking across the room and standing in front of Calculator. He kept his eyes locked onto Calc's as he ranted on like every single one of their villains did.
He knew Kuttler was just trying to rouse him. Just trying to make him angry. But Dick was beyond anger. When Dick was angry, you could tell. But when he was furious you couldn't. It was a trait he had picked up from the bat himself. The whole emotion-hiding-thing.
"You're sick." was all he said, as he stared down at Kuttler like an insignificant being.

"Am I? Heck I think I helped the kid. Now he'll be a better crime fighter you see. He'll be just like you, no parents to hold him back. He can go right at his work without ever having to worry. Besides, Jack Drake was a class act loser. Worthless waste of space. This way he finally did something, gave his son some drive and motivation."
Leaning back against the wall that his cot was pushed up against, Noah still smiled like the cat that had eaten the canary, a nice metaphor he thought.
"Besides, if you think this is bad, wait until you see what comes next. This was nothing boy, not compared to what it could have been. But of course, you'll never figure it out in time. I bet you all still think it was just me don't you? So stupid and clueless, you don't see who it is that's really gunning for you. You won't until they're all dead. Batman, Oracle, those idiot Titans. You too. you'll all die so that Tim will be left alone. That is my gift to him, knowing all of his worthless friends, everyone he loved is dead. That's worse then anything Slade and I can do and i'll sit in Arkham forever if it means I can help that goal."
With a twinkle in his eye, he looked at Nightwing over his glasses, they had slide down the bridge of his nose and he was unable to push them back up given the current state of things. Not that he needed them in here.
"Of course, I won't be here long."

He turned his back on Calc standing in the shadows, listening as his mouth went from 0-90 in less than a second.
His mouth was too fast.
And his words were making Dick too furious.
At the end of his sentence, Dick turned, sending his already clenched fist across Kuttler's face, sending his glasses flying into the wall and shattering, while blood and a chip of one of his teeth flew across the room as well. The kevlar was built into their suits primarily for defensive purposes, but damn it did a number when he wanted to get his point across to someone.
"Jack Drake was a good man, you insolent scum!" He shouted into the madman's face. Then, after a moment of silence, he said more calmly. "He may not have been a warrior, or a genius, but you will never be half of what he'll be. Because he was a good father. He was a man. You? You're just an animal."
He thrusted his forearm across Noah's chest, thrusting him against the wall. A satisfactory CLUNK of his head slamming into it filled the air. "A murderous animal, who's so caught up in trying to make his own legend, people died for it. On both sides of the battlefield. Because of your ego"
He pushed his forearm further against Calc's chest before stepping back, regaining his composure. And Calc went on, about there being more to it. Of course there would be. There was always more. Always another battle. Always another scrap to be laid down. "I had guessed there would be someone more. It seemed to....deep. To be from you. Of course, it was open house slaughter, which suits your style. But I felt something else in it." He turned back to Calc, staring into the man's crazed eyes. "Deeper than the death and the slaughter. Deeper than just trying to piss the heroes off. I just don't know what....yet."

Laughing through the pain and the chipped tooth, that was always what he hated most, the societies Dental plan was too expensive for this reason, Noah listened as Nightwing went on. He thought he was so clever having seen the clues. He was so busy figuring out that leaves gre on trees he didn't notice the whole forest had him surrounded.
"Really? Think if you will, i'm smart yes, smart enough to come up with this. But when have I ever done something this big on my own? I'm always running support, it's what I do best and i'm glad to do it. But none of you questioned that the first time. The second no man's land they called it. No you all thought that it was a red herring for me to just taunt Oracle. But THAT WAS THE HERRING! That was the set up you idiot, it let the pieces for this get set up. And this? This last attack was just one more move on the chess board. Me though, i'm nothing but a bishop in it all. The king behind it, oh you'll never know Dick. You'll never figure out the truth, the true goal, the true target because your emotions blind yourself to it. You fool, you great big glorious fool. Don't you get it? None of this was me, everything that's happened since the crisis has all been part of one bigger plan! Every bit of bad luck or personal loss! It's all for him! You stupid fools! IT'S ALL FOR HIM!"

"Your a damn psycho." Dick growled at the man before him. There was just one thing which really bothered him. He knew the guy was a psycho....that sad part was....he knew he was a psycho who was telling the truth. Something so much bigger was about to go down in Gotham. And it was all circled around Tim. Someone had it out for him. Someone big. Bigger than Joker, Bigger than Calculator, maybe even bigger than Ra's al Ghul.
He listened in as Calculator rambled on about the red herring. The thing they had been missing all along. Noah's attack only being a smokescreen to hide the figure moving in the shadows. None of it was random. Not a single death had been uncharted. Not a single attack unplanned. It was all part of something grand. Beyond the fool sitting infront of him. Beyond anything he'd previously faced. Any of them had previously faced.
"So your boss will make his move...and when he does...we'll stop him. Whatever it takes. My death. Batman's death. Whatever the price is. We'll win. And you'll be here again. Wearing a nice little jacket that let's you hug yourself. Saying the exact same thing you were saying when I arrived. 'How did it go wrong, we planned it all so well.' Because you fail to realize....every plan has a flaw. Your ego just forbids you to see it."

"No ego bird boy, She doesn't have an ego. I don't even think she's human, she looks it but she doesn't act it. She makes even my blood run cold. You? You and your group don't have a chance. Not a chance in hell!"
Laughing now, he watched as Nightwing's form bunched. He knew the young hero wanted to hit him again. It wouldn't matter, he'd be leaving soon. He knew, he didn't know how, but he knew that right now his freedom was walking towards him. Nightwing wouldn't know, she was too good to let some hero know what she had planned, especially in this town. It'd happen after blue boy left, then Noah would be free. Oh sure they'd think they'd have him captive still, but he'd be just a free as if he was back with the Society.
"But don't worry, i'll be out of here soon. Then I can watch as you all die, from shock or something more painful, either works for me. You see, i'm between a rock and the Wall."
So sue him, he coudln't pass up one more chance to taunt him. Amanda Waller was his salvation, the Suicide Squad his ticket out. Thank god for Checkmate and their willingness to use anyone regardless of what they did. He loved America.

Dick gritted his teeth, resisting the urge to send his fist straight through the rest of Calculator's teeth. He had said she...so the new boss in town was a woman. Red Claw? No...definitly not. This was beyond the terrorist. This had to be someone new.
Calculator broke his thoughts when he said he would get out. Dick's brow wrinkled in frustration. But he knew it was true. He was Calculator, he wouldn't be locked in this joint for too long.
He'd get it...and it'd be easy. That was the way of things in this town. And he'd torment them until the day that he died. And Dick was sure the same went for his new boss. But that's okay. Because he'd be there to stand against them until the day that he died as well.
"I know you will."
He walked away from Kuttler, leaving him where he was, then stopped, his body half concealed in the shadows he had originally came from. And before he stepped into the shadows for good, he spoke four words.
"And I'll be waiting."
