-Cold followed him in, making sure he was taken care of before anything. His hand was killing him. It almost felt like it was broken, but he was trying to think positive thoughts right now. Hopefully it wasn't-
"Do you have all of your tools here to mend your helmet? or are they somewhere else?"
-He was offering to find them, should they be elsewhere- Delete Reply

Freeze nodded slowly, water from the melting ice cap falling to the floor. "I need to be thawed out of this frozen fortification carefully, as to make sure I, nor my helmet are injured." He was quiet for a while trying to think of how exactly something like that could be done. A hammer could shatter his helmet beyond repair, and a heater was absolutely out of the question, yet it would take hours to let it thaw naturally. "Do you suppose you could....for the most part, chip this icy structure away?"

Having her back turned to him, she didn't bother to turn to him. She knew he was there, but made sure to acknowledge his presence. "Everything okay?"
There she went again, thinking about everyone but herself again. She closed her eyes, her eyes afixed on the Wayne Enterprises building that wasn't too far away.
Hearing his question, she thought for a moment, wondering if she should lie to him or just tell him the truth. Then again, she wasn't one for lying anyway.
"The entire thing." she confessed, softly. She quickly wiped away any forming tears from her eyes. ".....he's not coming back... is he?"

"Thawed?"
-His mind went to word for a moment. What would be the best way to getting Freeze out of his self contained holding cell?
-Hearing his suggestion, he nodded, patting himself down. He always carried ice picks with him. Force of habit.
-As soon as he found them he started to slowly chip away the ice from Freeze's helmet, being careful not to get too close to the actual surface.
-As he tapped on the pick, he braced his injured hand, trying to work the ice away, but it slipped. He swore-
"Son of a bitc--"
-Shaking his hand in pain, he inhaled, teeth clenched and continued to work-
"Okay, you know what? Next vacation we take? We go to Alaska. No offence, but your town is no Winter Wonderland."

Hyperkid Posted: Jun 16, 2006 7:47 PM
*Hyperkid looked at the back of Barbara's chair, tilting his head down and sighing softly.*
"I'm sorry, Barbara. Really, I am. It's funny..."
*Thinking to himself, a very small smile comes across his face.*
"Sometimes, I would actually write my very own Justice League and Teen Titans storylines, and everytime it ended the same: you and Dick living happily ever after. Batgirl and Robin. Oracle and Nightwing. Barbara and Dick. All I wanted to do was have you two end up together."
*Soon, the smile faded as his head was left hanging again.*
"But now, here I am. Living and breathing the same air as you and Dick, caught right in the middle of your conflict. Wanting you two to be together more then anything in the world..."
*His eyes began to water again.*

Hearing the pain in his voice, Barbara spun her chair around to face him. The glint of the light was catching his glistening tears.
Her heart truly ached.
"Oh-- sweetie--" she frowned weakly and pushed herself forward and motioned for him to come closer. "Please don't cry... it's okay."
She hugged him very gently, trying to comfort him... almost int he same way a mother would comfort her son. "You didn't screw anything up. There's nothing to apologize for.
"Sometimes.. bumps form in the road and we just have to ride over them until the CHP does something about them..." she tried to make light of the situation. She smiled weakly. "Things.... eventually will be okay."
The truth was: She honestly had no idea if things would be... especially after this.

Nightwing Posted: Jun 16, 2006 8:12 PM
A soft thud was heard, as Nightwing's boots landed on the floor. He stood near the window, where he had just dropped in from. His face held a sad look. "Yes....they will be......that is.....if you can forgive me....again."
He hated asking for her forgiveness, because he knew he'd been granted it so many times, he really didn't know if deserved it anymore. "I'm sorry....for flipping out, and just...everything."
Less than an hour ago, he thought he was going to ask her to marry him. Now, he didn't know if she would even want him back after doing....what he did. Now, again....here he was, instead of asking her to forever be his, he was asking for forgiveness.

Freeze sat there, watching as Leonard chipped away at his fortification. When Cold suggested the vacation, he raised his eyebrow slightly. "How long are you expecting this partnership to last?"
Freeze was never the one for longterm partner ships. He would team up with other rogues very rarely, Cold was the only one who actually sustained his frigid interest. But despite that, he had never considered a prolonged partnership.

Her head, turned as soon as she heard the second voice. Was she hearing things? No... no she couldn't be. he was standing there in front of her after all.
Nightwing's sudden mood swings concerned her. But then again, he had always been like this. Happy one minute, angered the next, fun-loving and caring the next.
The roller coaster of emotion was there and if anyone was king, it was he.
The thing with him was that he always had reasoning to back his emotions and they weren't always gun-ho.
"You.... actually want to talk to me after all of that?" she asked Nightwing, quietly

*Seeing that Barbara and Dick have alot to talk about, Hyperkid knew that it would be better that he stay out of the way as he returned to his chambers.*
*After changing back into his regular clothes (complete with red t-shirt with the Flash symbol on it) Chris set his armor up on the mannequin as he laid back on his bed, grabbing some of his comic books and sighing deeply, hoping that everything will work out between Dick and Barbara.*

Nightwing watched as Chris walked off. A small smile on his face. That kid had done so much for him, he was going to have to do something for him sometime. Something big.
He turned his head back to Barbara. He stripped his mask away from his face, dropping it to the ground beside his boots. He stepped closer to Barbara slowly. He was quiet for long moments, not sure what to say. "You....you did nothing wrong, I was just jumping to conclusions....even if you'd done something wrong....you've forgiven me so many times, there's no way I wouldn't be able to forgive you. But....the issue is....if you can forgive me again...for being a complete idiot..."

Captain Cold Posted: Jun 16, 2006 8:50 PM
-Stopping for the moment, Cold looked back to him, catching his curious look-
"We're men who're partial to the cold weather, granted. I've been wanting a place to vacation and I haven't figured out exactly where. All I know is I feel like going up north this time around.
"After I finished business here in Gotham a few weeks ago, I thought I would stay for a while to get away from everything. Thinking that this would be a mini-vacation of sort. It's not turning out like I planned."
-He went back to chipping away at the ice. Slowly but surely pieces started breaking off. He stayed silent for several moments before speaking again, answering his question-
"When the ice age ends."

Freeze stood up slowly. The ice had become weak enough. He grabbed at two weak points, and pulled. The suits synthetic strength easily shattered the ice makeshift helmet. He slowly lifted the glass helmet from his head setting it on a nearby equipment. "This'll take some time to repair..."

Barbara watched Dick carefully, not daring to let his eyes wonder from the gaze of his own. "You're not an idiot..." she ushered.
She gave a small nod. "These... things happen... but next time.... please--?" she sighed weakly, continuing. "...could you please try not to run off like that?
"You do that way too often... and you need to realize that you can't always just RUN from your problems. You need to face them. And usually, the sooner you do it, the better."

Cold waited until Freeze pulled off his helmet to pull off his glove. He winced as he did so, examining the wound-
"He hit me good... I'll admit that."
-Walking into the second room, he found a faucet and let the water hit his skin. Stifling his pain, he looked around-
"Is there any gauze or anything laying around here?"
-He looked over his shoulder-
"You've got everything you need to fix it, I take it?"
