Dinah had obviously walked into something she really had no interest in being part of at the moment. Everyone seemed angry and hostile and she wasn't in the mood, but at the same time she wasn't one to not defend herself.
"I feel like I've been hit by a truck so no i'm not really okay and how dare you make a comparison to what happened to me with you going in on your own to Arkham, I was on a patrol when I got my ass handed to me, I didn't go into some nuthouse seeking an ass kicking." Dinah shrugged off Ollies attempt to help her. She really wasn't ready to be touched by him.
"no Barbara you can't have any more blood samples you have taken enough for the time being, I've been poked and prodded enough....I don't even know why I came out I am just going to go back to bed just try and keep down the yelling...." Dinah winced as she turned to quickly but before she could leave she heard her cell phone ring.
She turned back to Barbara's Desk to see her phone and not to far from it a bottle of pain killers, Babs had probably been tinkering with it again. She made her way over and grabbed the phone checking the caller ID.
"Hey Mia......Yeah I know........because I just found out myself and frankly its not my decision to make who he tells......well i'm sorry but I've pretty much been unconscious for...actually i'm not sure how long.......I'll be fine Mia.....why are you yelling at me about this? i'm not the one that did it......of course I didn't know he was alive until now......do you really think I would hide something like that from you?......Mia I am not in the mood for you to take your issues with him out on me why don't you talk to him about it he's right here.......no Mia's its not like that he is not here by my.....Mia?.....Mia?" She angrily closed her phone and turned to Ollie.
"I see you made a few phone calls, funny how even that gets taken out on me." she was tired angry and in a lot of pain and just did not want to deal with any of it, she looked again at the bottle of pain killers on Barbara's desk knowing that Babs was a stickler for not giving out more than she thought they needed, as she watched Question head into the bathroom and looked at Ollies proximity to the desk Dinah knew what she had to do.
"i'll let you screen my calls for the next day or two because I am not handling your issues right now I have my own" As she went to hand him the phone she stumbled into him knocking them both closer to the desk causing enough distraction for her to swipe them unnoticed. As Ollie tried to help her she pushed off of him once again.
"i'm fine" She set the phone on the desk next to him and steadied herself. "i'm going back to bed" she turned and headed for her room.

It felt embarassing to lose face in front of Oracle, around Black Canary, and even in the sights of Green Arrow. Yes I had done his share of missteps in Gotham and frankly like Oracle made a point of Gotham is Gotham... I physically left Hub City... still parts of me linger there. Parts that prey upon his memories of the falling out with Myra and the death of Jeremiah Hatch.
The symptoms, if they were to be truly believed, were emerging in everyone in the clocktower. Removing his 'face' let me breathe again and I would be open to whomever Oracle partners me with because trying to cope with the symptoms of Scarecrow's gas is proving to be too much to wrap my head around.
I would apologize to Canary for my uneven comparison because right now anything that could divide them is likely to be fatal to their ability to work through this situation. It is deteriorating, but such is expected with Scarecrow likely behind this. We're ripe for the gas to do the most damage. Recent events left us all vulnerable.

Green Arrow was an asshole. An asshole and proud of it. However, while he was always more then happy to get into a verbal sparring match, he never actually liked to hurt someone's feelings...especially when its a respected teammate.
He immediatly could tell that things were wearing thin between the heroes. Himself. Barbara. Question. Canary. Quickly, it was beginning to get a little much.
"Barbara..." His jaded leather glove touched down on the back of Oracle's chair, his fingertips barely touching her shoulder. "...Im sorry...I know...you're right."
Oliver took a step back as Dinah arrived and answered her phonecalls, especially the one from Mia. He stood silent, staring away as his cheek was turning bright red, feeling almost a little embarressed by the arguement. What he did was between himself and Mia, and it wasn't fair for Dinah to get dragged into it. As she returned to his living quarters, GA simply turned back to Barbara and Question, letting out a soft sigh.
Man, he hated to admit when he was wrong.
"Alright...let's get real. Considering that we have all suddenly decided to beging biting eachother's heads off, I guess its pretty clear that something is happening to us. Im still not sure if I buy this 'Scarecrow gas' theory, but whatever is effecting us, its kicking our asses."
Green Arrow's eyes turned to Question. He may not necessarily like the guy, but he would be a fool to ignore that, underneath all the conspiracy and rantings, the man knew his stuff. He was good at what he did, and he knew how to get results.
"So the question is...what do we do about it?"

"The drug trade in Gotham is getting new stashes from someone. Clearly it is a highly addictive substance and popular as well. Considering how much demand there is for it in places like the Wash, the Narrows, and other run down areas of Gotham."
It was true that I had done some cursory observations of drug dealers, which was why I went to Arkham. The behavior it triggered in its users was far more intense than an ordinary street drug.
"Similar substances have also cropped up in major retailers too. Basically its present in every day/night used products. Whether its your high or your make-up for example... its there."
If it is Scarecrow he is casting a city wide net in trying to expose as many people as possible though he is likely looking to see the most damage to the costumes because we are the only ones who can stop him.
"Any manner of contact also transmits the effects and the side effects to others. It matters not if you kissed, fought, or share living spaces... it takes only one to spread a fear induced epidemic."
Why did I insist upon Scarecrow?
"This fits Crane's M.O. However I need to conduct a more thorough search of Arkham to ascertain where he made this concotion. Of course if I were to think like him I'd destroy any usable evidence."
Leave little or no trails for investigation into evolving plans.
"Even so... I believe its him... I believe Arkham will at least give us an impression of how to find out what he was doing and what he could be planning."
At least Arrow is open to the idea that we were being chemically manipulated by something.
"Otherwise we won't be able to overcome what's been done to us. He is the closest thing to mind altering substances expertise in Gotham City."
I won't go back to Arkham alone so if they want to reject this avenue that's their call. There are ways to get to him I'd expect, but this plan was set in motion there. I feel certain of it.
More certain than I have felt in some time.
My brawling with the guards left new marks on me, but I'd clean myself up this time. Eventually I have to look in the mirror. Now if I could only see myself and not the apparition of Jeremiah Hatch I might find more restraint not to break something.
What's happening to me doesn't feel natural and of course I believe Oracle should test the compounds I use in my mask application. Something further I need to ask of her.

Barbara watched as Dinah attempted to start walking away. "DINAH--!" she called after her. "I really need that blood sample-- Do you think you can PLEASE--" A strong push of her chair, she maneuvered around Question to attempt to go after her, only to lose her quickly down the hall.
She grunted in response, spinning back to face the two men that stood in front of her.
Folding her arms across her chest, she allowed herself to slip into her own mind.
How in the world could she even attempt to defeat something of this magnitude if she didn't even have a counter measure to work with?
Counter... measure.
What she needed was something that could hold a tolerance to things.
Barbara rubbed her cheek in thought, speaking aloud. "Hmm... I wonder..." Pressing her earring, she activated her wireless com-link. "Charlie--? Can you come out to the main room, please? I need ask a favor..."
A headache was starting to form. She pinched the bridge of her nose and closed her eyes, suddenly hearing Ollie's voice. "It's... okay. I figure it's safe to assume that any real ill-fated wording of anything that is brought up is just a subject of this..... gas theory."
Ollie's question was a good one indeed.
"Arkham would be a good start... but considering the state we're ALL in... and what more it can do to our bodies is something of a gamble. Of everyone HERE.. I hate to say it, but I think Dinah has the most massive dose. I'm, of course, only basing this off of observation. Either that or my mind is so far gone, that she's acting completely normal or...." She exhaled at the thought. She really wasn't sure what was going on. "If we're going to go out an take down things. I'm going to have to figure a way to counter balance the effects."
She looked back to Question and then to Ollie. "How well ARE you both feeling right now?"

When Oracle came calling, you better believe Charlie was going to come answering.
Charlie still wasn't quite sure what exactly to say, think, or even feel about Barbara. These feelings were new to her...even a little on the scary side. She knew that she liked her...alot...but she also had to face facts. Barbara was a woman, and Charlie was a woman too, and last time she checked, Charlie wasn't a....
Or was she...?
She never really thought about it, but it did make sense in a weird way. Charlie thought boys were cute and all, but she never pictured herself in the ideal married with kids scenerio, or even met a boy in her life that 'got her motor running' as it were. Come to think of it, the only person who ever got her motor running was...Barbara.
Right now, it didn't matter. She was needed, so it was time to get her game face on.
*POOF!*
With a single bounce, Charlie ported directly behind Oracle, Question, and Green Arrow, arms crossed with a playful smile on her face, trying to hide the flutters of butterfly wings in ehr stomach.
"You rang, boss?"

How am I feeling? How the hell do you THINK Im feeling?
At least...that's what the inner monologue of Green Arrow was screaming.
Luckily, if Question's theory about Scarecrow's gas not only spreading across the city, but spreading between the heroes themselves was true, then it hadn't quite taken its effect over GA to make him say something he would later regret.
Or...at least something he wouldn't REALLY regret.
Despite all that had happened to him recently, there was a change in his personality. Green Arrow is an archer. He is a master of the bow, and to be a master of the bow, one must have a certain inner peace. A calmness. A focus. For the last few days, Oliver had none of the following. Everything around him was...loud, irritating, and running miles a minute around him. Even when his life was in termoil, he still tried to keep an even head...an even head he was currently functioning without.
Damn, he hated for Question to be right.
"Me? I feel...a little off. Irritated. Short tempered. I mean, yeah, the very deep hole I dug myself into hurts like a son of a bitch, but even in the worst of times, I find a way to keep an even head. Right now...I feel like even the smallest thing could set me off.....folks, I think I might be infected."
With the sudden bounce of Charlie coming in behind him, startled, GA clinched his teeth and looked back at her.
"Dammit, kid! You scared the hell out of me! Haven't you ever heard of a little invention called 'a door'? Jeez!"
His heart was racing. His face was turning red. For no reason whatsoever, Oliver Queen just turned his rage to an innocent girl. After a moment, the color faded from his cheeks. He looked down at the floor and sighed.
"I'm sorry, kid. I didn't mean to snap at you. Im just....I don't think I'm well..."
His voice was much softer now. The voice of a man who is trying to push his inner demons aside for what's best. He turned his attention to Oracle.
"Barbara, please, help yourself to as much of my blood as you need. I gotta get this crap out of my system."

Tonight's events were certainly turning out to hold more questions than answers. It was almost starting to feel like they were all lined up for a race and gates to complete had JUST flown open.
This race?
Was off.
Barbara nodded to Ollie, hearing him. "I appreciate it, Ollie. The sooner we can get these cultures into the system, the sooner we'll be able to combat against whatever it is that's taking all of us by storm."
Capping two filled phials of blood, she placed them on the stainless steel tray to her immediate left. "This should do nicely. Cookies and OJ are in the kitchen." she mused, nodding her thanks.
The moment Charlie popped into view, she gave her refreshed smile. "YOU..." she pointed to Charlie sternly. ".....might be our golden key." At least, that was what her light-bulb thought process had brought her to.
Oh Rhea, how she hoped she was right on the money with this one.
"First... I need to ask you something really important." She looked Charlie dead in the eye. "How... are you feeling?"
It was a simple question, in essence. But she really needed to know. "Have... you FELT anything coming to the surface as of late?
"Any.... lingering emotions? Behavioral differences.... mood swings....?"

"Um....."
Charlie looks back at Oracle, somewhat at a loss for words. A single sweat bead rolls down her forehead, finding herself as the direct center of attention the slightest bit worrisome. After a moment, she is finally able to blink again, licking her lips and ready to reply.
"I...I think Im alright. Thank you for asking."
The smile returned to her face, but immediatly faded again, Charlie arching her eyebrow as she couldn't help but wonder where this was coming from.
"Emotions? Mood swings? Oracle, where is this coming from? Did something happen I should know about? Is this about earlier, because if it is about what happened earlier with my breakdown, Im sure it was just a simple lapse in emotions. I swear. Please...don't take me off the field."
A frown forms on Charlie's face. She always hated the thought of upsetting someone, especially her idol, Barbara. She didn't want to lose face in front of her, let along make her think that she wasn't up to being a member of the team.

Barbara raised an eyebrow watching her protege in front of her. Something about her body language did seem a little... heightened when she was speaking...
No...
That was... nerves.
Barbara knit her eyebrows together in thought, trying to let her thoughts formulate. What in the world could she be nervous about...?
"Whoa whoa..." she said, placing her arms out in front of her. "...slow down. About earlier...?" she shook her head. "No.... no. you're totally fine--" She blinked. "Why would I take you off the assignment?"
She gave her a small smirk. "You're totally fine. No..
"With everything going on... with the apparent fear toxins running rampant throughout the city... this new batch of fear gas that Scarecrow has dispatched seems to be wreaking havoc on.... all of us.." she motioned to he others standing in the room.
"Dinah seems to gotten hit the worst... at least from the looks of it.. At least between all of us.
"The reason why I was asking is because I'm getting this feeling that you're not getting the brunt of this like the rest of us. And I think your meta ability is having some effect combating against it. It's like I said before: I think you're our Golden Key. Something within you seems to be blocking the effects...
"You... might be the only one that's not affected..."

"We do need an immunity or a stop gap measure because its unlikely we can reverse or neutralize this gas immediately. Because the last thing any of us can afford right now is to break or shut down in the middle of a fight or flight situation. Least of all if one of us or several of us encounters Scarecrow."
Question..I... felt better having a direction because no one could plan for this madness. Maybe Batman could, but without Batman in this Clocktower - it was up to the Birds of Prey, Green Arrow, myself, and anyone else willing to risk themselves to stop Scarecrow.
"We need an edge., but not let him suspect our advantage. Still it'll take time. One can only wonder if we have that time. Worse case scenarios aside - at least we have got a direction on this instead continuing to rip each other apart emotionally... psychologically."
Jeremiah Hatch and Scarecrow start to have an eerie resemblance. One I would have rather not drawn in my thoughts, but what's done is done. I can only cope with putting a stop this before it tears Gotham and us apart through fear... madness... whatever else Scarecrow is trying to do.
