Captain Cold Posted: Jan 16, 2007 9:28 AM
-Cold's body muscles tensed as he lowered his gun, keeping it to his side. A sound look of frustration was keenly set onto his facial muscles. His browline tightened. There was no way in hell that he could lay a hand on the kid even if he had struck him first. That went against what he stood for and the promise that he made a time ago.
-He walked closer and grabbed him by the scarf, yanking him away from Flash's line of vision. He had to at least make it look like he was going to do something with him. With his back to Flash, he adjusted Owen's scarf. Almost as if a father would adjust his son's bowtie just before prom.-
"Owen. Get real. I'm not going to let you trade his life for yours.
"I can't leave empty handed. It won't look good. Especially if our side wins."

Captain Boomerang Posted: Jan 20, 2007 11:37 AM
Letting Cold reposition him, though he'd be honest for a second he almost ruined his pants and actually thought his bluff had been called, it was all he could do not to breath a sigh of relief. He really didn't want to have to fight Captain Cold, forget the fact he was a second father to Owen, he was also the toughest fighter in the Flash's Rogues Gallery. That wasn't just saying anything either, Owen had seen the man fight, really fight. Not something he wanted to see again, not on the receiving end.
"Well Len, I can't let you kill him either. Especially not if my side wins, which no offense, is a little more likely. I'd say we seem to have a standoff. Of course, we don't."
Pointing down to the arm that held the infamous cold gun at the side of the equally infamous cold villain, said gun now sported a golden razor boomerang right through the barrel. It was smaller then normal, since it was one of the mini 'rangs that his dad had invented. Slips up into your sleeve real easy, good to throw in a pinch or, if someone yanks you close to them, sticking it into their weapon without them even noticing. Made even easier if you have a basic knowledge of the weapon, for example if you had spent alot of time in a close father-son relationship with the weapons creator.
"Sorry Len, I really am. But I save lives now, it's what I do. Besides, I know you've got a copy back in your base or at least the means to make another. You'll beat the Flash another day. Today is still a win, just think of it as giving him a message that his life is yours to end whenever you want. Gives ya a power not many have right?"

Captain Cold Posted: Jan 22, 2007 10:48 AM
-Len's brow-line tightened as he continued to look Owen in the eye. He shook his head just slightly-
"Never was a standoff to begin with."
-He glanced over to the Speedster that was over Boomerang's shoulder. He was wobbling, still hazed from his frozen adventure. As Owen spoke, he laughed mentally. He was right. He did have an advantage over Flash now. He actually had something that could instantly kill him, should the right amount of time pass by. Oh, what a wonderful took he created. He wanted nothing more than to just pull the trigger of his Cold gun and end his life then and there.
-Though, if one died, there would only be one more that called himself 'Flash' that he would have to worry about. Their own balance would be distroyed. However, the ratio of arch enemy to super villain would be one in one. As much as he hated to come to the realization, he would need to wait so that their numbers reached three.-
Need to find that Kid Flash fella. Get some info.
-Cold then realized he had another item on his unsettled agenda. And what he would have to settle for is to almost killing Flash and letting him go within an inch of his life each time they met. Depressing.
-Though, he ws sure there would be some way to rectify it. He gave a silent nod to Owen.-
"I'll walk away THIS time. But in exchange... I want you to spread the word that I've 'upgraded.'"
-He smirked-
"...give your friends a little scare, . if you will. I'm not your typical rogue. Never have been and never will."
-Giving another quick glance at Flash he rolled his eyes and started to walk off-
"Give him a chemical bath. He'll be fine."
-Did he just 'help' his enemy? Yeah. It seemed he did. He had to keep the 'balance' after all.-

The BatPosted: Jan 23, 2007 3:48 AM Batman quickly made his way into the city. According to the positioning read out Oracle was at Police headquarters. The city looked like a disaster area but he knew things were now under control. Calculator was moments for his curtain call. The OMAC sentry landed east of the GCPD and followed its protcol to defend the heroes. Batman spoke aloud, "Clark, I have Oracle in my sight. Stay by the sentry and assist." Batman then withdrew from its holster the carbide tungsten (CT) batarang and placed it in the molecular accelerator in the interior of the tank. Setting the frequency on the accelerator, Batman bombarded the metal alloy 'rang with a low level magnetized radioactive isotope. Once thrown at Noah, it would serve to disrupt his neural patterns causing all kinds of havoc between Noah's physical self and the entity he had become. End of story...and no defense. Batman loaded his belt with grapnel, ascenders, gas pellets, shuriken 'rang cartridges, bo shurikens, rebreather and the CT 'rang, unsecuring the hatch, he exited the tank. Immediately several thugs tried their hand at taking him down. They all received a bat-shaped shuriken in the neck or groin for their troubles. Heading west, he made the corner of the GCPD in time to see Oracle being lifted through the air by a hover disc. Batman scrambled over the rubble to the southwest corner of the building and received a pleasant surprise as Joker stood inside the building, stooped over and breathing hard. Grabbing the ledge of the broken out window frame, Batman launched into the room. Seeing the fresh blood on Joker's hands only compounded the million reasons Batman had to crush this ***k into the dirt. Batman didn't wait for him to stand and brought a right upper cut from the floor straight into Joker's jaw. Then leaping, came over the top with a left ax strike while Joker's head was still snapped back. The breaking of Joker's jaw in several places was very satisfying. As Joker descended, Batman finished him of with blunt kick to his ribs. That's when he saw the blood drip from the rafter. Batman looked up to see a hand and forearm, black gloved with a blue stripe, through a hole in the ceiling. Nightwing. No time to get to him now. He knew Dick could take care of himself. Batman exited the window through which he came, launched a grapple to the upper level of the GCPD and spoke out loud again, "Clark, I'll need a loud distraction from the east, by the sentry, on my mark." The ascender in the grapple, nearly defying gravity, yanked Batman up through space towards the open window where Oracle and Noah were located. It seemed time stood still as Batman spoke, "Three, two, one, MARK!" A loud explosion came for the east and lit the sky. Batman back flipped into the room to see Oracle still on the hover disc and across the room...Calculator. As Batman landed he quickly stood and let fly the CT batrang right towards Noah's head.

The Flash Posted: Jan 25, 2007 9:58 PM
With chilled eyes, Flash's still shaking form looked up from his position. Internally he felt warmer than what he was, but he just couldn't shake that chill. What did Cold do to his weapon?
He certainly enhanced it.... ten times.
As he yanked Captain Boomerang from his sight, Snart looked like he was ready to do him in as well.
Vision so blurry.
Was Boomerang ok? Was he in danger? Was Snart toying with him?
Dropping to the ground, laying on his side, he shivvered, watching the two in front of him.
So sleepy.
Sniffling, he touched his earpiece. "Or--Oracle....? Are you there? Cun-- can you tell me what's wrong with me? Why-- is m-my body acting this way? I think Cold's going to kill....."
He yawned.
"....Captain Boom.....erang."

Prometheus Posted: Jan 30, 2007 2:54 AM
"Ok, now i'm pissed."
Flipping up to his feet, he grabbed two new guns from yet another hiding spot on his body. Before firing however, he stopped. This was getting him nowhere, he was outnumbered and with his helmet as damaged as it was, he didn't like his chances. Sure he could maybe kill one of them, or even two, but who's to say they wouldn't have friends showing up soon? No, this wasn't going to work at all, so it was time to change tactics. What was the old saying, he who fights and runs away lives to fight another day? Holstering the gun in his left hand, he pulled out two small packages, both roughly the size of a grapefruit. Fruit, they weren't, they were explosives. Perfect for, or say, masking a retreat.
"Well ladies it's been a blast, but i've got to go and you've got to save some people trapped inside of a burning weakened building. Chao!"
Tossing both of them out, he brought up his gun arm and took aim. One package landed between him and the women while the other went soaring towards one of the few remaining buildings in Gotham. Once the first hit the ground and the second was no more then a few feet from it's residential target, he fired. Two bullets, one each. Moving as soon as he was done, he already had taken five running steps by the time they both exploded. He could feel the heat from the blasts washing over him, but he kept going, putting as much distance between himself and the heros as possible. Rounding a corner, he popped open a manhole cover and jumped down into the sewers. Gotham City Public Works should really do something about these tunnels, they were helping far to many villains escape. Prometheus even had a jet ski hidden down here, waiting for him in case he needed it and sure enough, he did. He couldn't get in touch with Calculator or Slade or, well anyone. The OMACs had stopped flying almost as soon as they started and the small army that Noah had flooded the streets with was shrinking by the minute. He didn't get paid enough to fight on suicide missions. Maybe next time. Hitting the gas, he jetted off towards the bay and freedom. He'd be back when things were stacked a little more favorably.

Captain Boomerang Posted: Jan 30, 2007 3:25 AM
Smirking as Len walked off, Owen gave him a little two fingered salute before turning around to tend to the fallen speedster.
"Spread the word? Hell, I was going to do that anyway."
The smile dropping off his face as he got to the shivering hero, he frowned now as a problem came to him. The city was in total chaos, he didn't have the power to fly or run really fast, not enough to help anyway. He sure didn't have some car he called the Boomermobile, cuz that was just a horrible name, so how the hell was he supposed to get the Flash somewhere with a chemical bath? Oh yeah, this wasn't one of his better and more well thought out ideas. Grumbling he tapped the earpiece, hoping to get someone on the line.
"Um hello? Oracle or, ya know, whoever is monitoring this thing. Um, i've got the Flash down here, chased off Captain Cold and now, well he's in kinda bad shape and needs a lift out of here. And, oh and a chemical bath too, ya know to stop his shivers. Cold upgraded and his gun packs a real mean kick now."
Reaching down to feel for a pulse, he heard the Flash's own distress call. After having found one, fairly steady from what he could tell he grinned and pulled out two boomerangs. Stabbing them into the ground next to the Flash, he watched as they activated and started to glow. Heating boomerangs were really stupid when he first found them, yet he carried them anyway. Guess this was why. At least Flash would have some heat now.
"Don't worry there pal, someone will be here soon. Sides aside from being real cold and some partial hearing loss, sorry about that too, you'll be fine. Just stay close to these and wait for your lift out of here. Don't worry about L- er Captain Cold, he won't be back and we're far enough away that noone will come across you by accident. I'd love to stay but there are alot of people still out there, worse off then you probably. Cya around."
Was it responsible to leave him like that? Most likely not, but he was a hero and in all honesty Superman himself was prolly coming for him. There were folks that didn't have that edge and those were the ones he was worried about. Thinking for a moment, he took off towards the location of police headquarters. That would be the best place to start, fan out from there with johnny law and whatever other costumes were on the job and start taking back the city. Picking up the pace, he should be there in a few minutes.

Black Canary Posted: Jan 30, 2007 5:48 AM
Just as things were starting to look good the coward decided to run. Canary tried to get up to stop him but quickly halted as she saw the explosives.
Damn....
She wasn't sure where gypsy was but she could handle herself. Dinah garbled rose and tried to get the two of them out of harms way. As the bomb exploded it sent the two of them crashing into the wall.
This is not my day Dinah lays there for a few minutes as the dust settles doing her best to stay conscious.
One more encounter with this wall and I am calling it quits....You two okay? She slowly sits up.

Oracle Posted: Jan 30, 2007 12:45 PM
At this point, Oracle was near the GCPD, listening to her wrist computer chiming for attention. She had a rendezvous with Calculator that she couldn't afford to miss. After all, he did have Jack Drake and Jim Gordon.
Listening to the first voice in her ear, she wheeled herself closer to the location. "Flash--?" Checking her wrist computer, she typed in a few codes to allow her to see a scientific breakdown of his body. Parts were showing up in blue, others in orange and red. At leat he wasn't all blue, she figured.
"It.. looks like your body is having trouble coping with the extreme amount of cold. Think of Mount Everest climbers. How they have to adapt to their bodies being at different altitudes and varying levels of cold. That's what's going on with you."
It wasn't long before she heard Captain Boomerang's voice come through her audio as well. "Boomerang-- I'm here. Don't worry. I'm sending someone armed with a green power ring to grab Flash. -- Flash... did you read that? Just sit tight. I'll have him transport you to the med bay of the Watchtower. J'onn will be able to help you further."
She closed her eyes momentarily realizing that a lot of her avaliable agents were dropping like flies. Robin, Wonder Girl, Flash... countless others. She was just glad no one was having any fatal encounters. At least not yet.
"Thanks, Boomerang." she muttered into her earpiece. "I'll make that note on Cold's file when things calm down a bit. I've still got a dozen H.I.V.E. agents buzzing around the northern part of the city. If you're still in one piece, I'd appreciate it if you made your way down there. I'll send you the coordinates."
****
Gypsy's form blurred back into her surroundings, her exhausted figure balancing over the rubble that had fallen from above hours before.
What was Prometheus doing? What were those boxes in his hand?
It dawned on her the instant that he reached for his guns. Explosives!
"Canary! Ravager get do--"
Before she was even able to finish her sentence, her body was slammed forward into one of the nearby brick walls that still remained in one piece.
Slumping to the ground in dizziness, she slowly opened her eyes minutes later after all the dust and debris sett;led.
She swore, pounding her fist into the jagged rock, making them bleed moreso.
"DAMNIT!"
Pushing some of the rubble from her body she sat up, looking over to where she noticed Canary's dust covered blonde hair peeking up. "....he got away."

"that he did....." She tries to get up but quickly falls back down. She looked over to Ravenger who seemed to be out cold. She checked her vitals. She seemed to be fine.
"well Gypsy looks like you get to experience the fun task of popping my knee back into place......" Screams could be heard inside the building that the other bomb had hit.
"we need to get in there"

Gypsy forced herself to stand and slowly made her way back over to Dinah. She looked down to Ravager and took a moment to check her pulse. "....at least she's stable."
Turning back to Canary she inhaled. "You really want me to pop it back in place?"
Hearing the screams from the building one over she cringed. She knew what had to be done. "Brace yourself." she spoke as she took hold of Dinah's leg and proceeded to pop her knee back in place. "Can you walk?"

"ok" She closed her eyes and waited. She heard the pop first followed by the pain.
"son of a...." she bit down on her lip. Dinah waited a minutes before slowly getting up. "yeah I think so...lets go" Canary headed towards the building.
"should we start from the top and work down?"

Gypsy's eyes cascaded forward to the top of the building before turning back to Canary. "I cannot fly." she reminded her. "That is not my craft."
She ran to catch up with the woman, still concerned about the way she was walking. "How about we just go in and work our way up? You take the left wing, I'll take the right?"

"yeah I was thinking more of using the stairs than flying" She smiled slightly. They head into the building looking for survivors.
"this building isn't going to hold long, we need to move fast"
Dinah moves down the hallway as quick as she can. She finds a few people and ushers them out of the building. Some of the beams start to fall as she goes back in. Were running out of time. She makes her way back down the hall knocking on every door trying to help as many people as possible

Gypsy nodded to her. "Agreed. Keep your communicator on just so we can be aware of what's goin' on." she said before dashing into the building. She quickly covered her mouth as the smoke started billowing down from the above floors. This wasn't good. The structural integrity of the building was in jeaprody and she knew it. At any moment, the walls could come crashing down on them at any time.
Hitting a button on her communicator, she called to Canary as she ducked down the first hall. "Is there a way we can get a structural analysis on the building? I do not remember if you had the equipment to make that work or not. Now would be a good time to use it!"
