Captain Cold Posted: Jan 4, 2007 3:01 AM
-He was there by request of one man: Calculator. Normally Captain Cold wasn't one to associate with those outside of small family of Keystone rogues and the occasional Gotham Ice Man, but this situation was just too good to pass up.
-With his eyes toward the city, he watched as explosions and fires rained down. It was almost harmonic to watch it all from his location. He was no where close to where all the fun was happening, but instead he was on guard, watching and waiting for someone special to show up.-
"Happy new year."
-It was cold out and with each breath he took, the air in front of him turned frost white. Raising a set of binoculars to his eyes, he set his sights on a familiar target. And it didn't take long for his prey to come walking right up to him-
"Of course it's me again. Who the hell else would it be?"
-A dark grin formed over his lips, his gun pointed forward-
"My toys are better prepared and I'm better prepared for you this time. There's no way I'm letting you pass. It's a new year and I'm going to start it off right. That means your time is teetering on my see-saw."
-Without hestitation, Cold's freeze gun let out a powerful beam of ice, instantly Freezing Flash's feet to the ground.-

The Flash Posted: Jan 4, 2007 3:11 AM
Unable to dodge the blast in time Flash found himself standing in a waist high ice stand. Even through his suit he could feel the ice's chill run up his spine.
Something wasn't right. This wasn't like Cold's normal ice that captured him. This seemed stronger. More dense... colder. Maybe Cold did upgrade his gun
"What happened to our holiday truce, Snart?" he hissed, working his feet to ease through the ice.
It was working... but slowly. Why couldn't he get through this ice fast enough?
Something had to be in the ice itself to stop the friction.
This was bad.

Captain Cold Posted: Jan 4, 2007 3:23 AM
-Cold gave the speedster a a short, gravely laugh. He was glad to see that the improvements on his new gun wee taking effect.
Finally, after all of these years he had found a truly winning formula to stop Flash in his tracks.
-First, he had modified his gun to emit a longer, more shallow beam. By keeping the equilibrium with his already in-place crystals with an extremely heavy isotope, it allowed for the creation of an ice beam that couldn't thaw and evaporate as fast. Which eventually meant that his ice was now at a point that made it also Flash proof.
-With Snart's recent discovery he realized he could construct a bomb and drop it over Canada and watch all of Canada and the United States be rocketed into the new ice age. Oh how he had plans for his new mods once this was all over.
-Confidently he stroked his gun, cradeing it for a second, before he snapped-
"It's January first Flash! Truce is over at midnight! So that means I'm free to do what I've been waiting years to do.
"If I couldn't kill the Flash before you... that's ok! I'll kill you instead and be just as happy."
-Pointing his gun at Flash's temple, he cooed.-
"Happy new year, buddy."
-He pulled the trigger.-

"fine" she growled at Oracles response. Seeing Ravager go for the first move Canary waited for a good opening before she started taking some shots.

Joker Posted: Jan 4, 2007 7:41 PM
"Time to come out and play..., " Joker said with a grin. He grabbed his favorite bat, the one with nails driven through it to make a spiked club, and he emerged from his hiding spot.
First he just took it all in... the chaos was beautiful. His smile went from ear to ear. He started strolling down the street, using the bat as a walking stick, whistling a tune and looking around. He saw a group of teens... your typical hoodlums... hanging around a trash can. They tried to act tough as Joker approached, but he knew they had to be shitting themselves.
"Evenin' folks? Quite a night out here, huh?"
Most of the teens was edging backwards toward a wall. The one who wasn't seemed to be reaching behind him.
"What'cha got there, sonny?"
The teen tried to pull a knife, but he was too slow. Joker swung the bat at the side of the teen's head and he immediately dropped to the ground. Joker removed his bat from the dead kid's skull and smiled at the others.
"Anyone else wanna give it a go?"
The rest of the gang didn't seem as eager to fight. Joker slowly advanced on them until they took off running in the opposite direction. He laughed.
"Kids..."
Joker knelt down next to the corpse on the ground, sure to avoid getting any blood on his shoes.
"Watch it, pal. I just shined these for tonight's special occasion!"
He went through the kid's pockets and took his wallet, lighter, and cell phone.
"Don't worry. I'll tell mom you won't be home on time."
Joker laughed at his own joke since no one else was around to do it and picked the knife up off the ground before he stood up, closed it, and put his newly found treasures in his pockets.
"Hmm... what to do, what to do..."
He sat down on a nearby stoop pondering on what havoc he could cause next. He heard something behind him and turned to see a little girl peeking out a window at him. The little girl waved at him and he smiled and blew her a kiss.
After a bit more thought Joker decided that since he didn't know where Batman was he'd have to settle for someone lower on the totem pole. Then he got his idea.
Joker chuckled and stood up. He grabbed his bat, waved good-bye to the little girl, and started walking toward Gotham City Police Department.
Joker stuck to alleys for the most part, wishing to remain as hidden as possible on his way to the police station. The crazies were out tonight, and he'd be damned if he was gonna expose himself to that more than he had to. Occasionally he would look to the sky to see if he could see any sign of Batman, or even the signal, but there was nothing.
On his journey across town, Joker stopped at a liquor store and asked the nice man behind the counter for a large bottle of his finest vodka. He opened the wallet he'd taken earlier to pay, but the kid only had four lousy bucks. A little embarrased, Joker just made use of his bat again.
He slipped out the back door and kept creeping through the darkened alleys. He passed a homeless person or two on his way but left them alone. It wasn't as funny killing someone who wouldn't be missed.
All of a sudden Joker heard gunshots. He ran out onto the street to see where they were coming from. About half a block away he saw a figure dressed in red and green running like there was no tomorrow. Joker laughed.
Rather than investigate Robin's close call further he continued and within a few minutes he arrived at the police station. The roof had caved in toward the back of the building and there were small fires burning. A little disappointed, thinking it was more than likely deserted, Joker entered anyway.
The ground was covered with rubble, not to mention dead officers, and Joker was beginning to think he'd wasted his time coming here. He climbed the stairs and saw a light on in one of the offices down the hall. A grin slowly made its way across Joker's face.
He crept up to the door, and peeked inside seeing James Gordon at his desk with a map in front of him, scrambling to direct officers to different areas of the city.
"I always thought 'The captain goes down with the ship' was just a saying, " Joker said as he drew his gun and advanced on Gordon. "What do you say you give the ol' radio a rest and we have a chat?"

Caleb Posted: Jan 6, 2007 5:53 AM
There were two things in this world that Caleb loved and, wonder of wonders he was able to do both of them here tonight. His master had sent him here, at first he thought it was because of his faliure in Metropolis. However when all of the chaos and death hit, the former priest knew why he was sent. He was to add to the chaos, he was to kill in his Lord's name, to end the heros that could only be handled by his 'special' touch. Of course, if Spuerman did happen to show up, this time he would have more then just magically backed superstrength to deal with him. But first things came first, to handle the young blonde that just flew down a few yards from where he was hiding.
Stepping out from the shadows, he looked not like a magical dark assassin, but a scared frightened priest. Waving his arms over his head, he shouted to get her attention. "WONDER GIRL! Ov'r here! Please I need yer help, there are some wounded children back in this alley and I don't think they've got much time!" He couldn't do anything about his southern accent, which would seem out of place given how north Gotham was, but folks traveled all the time, especially clergymen. Besides, given the circumstances Caleb doubted that the blonde Titan would hesitate to help some wounded kids. Not that there were any, but he just needed to get her out of sight and with her guard down and then he would do his second favorite thing. Killing.

Prometheus Posted: Jan 6, 2007 7:29 AM
With a wicked grin, he blocked the blurring striking blades that Ravager tried to strike him down with. The girl was good, her style was almost just like her fathers except with more grace. But Slade was feared not for his hand to hand skills but for his mind and that, this little girl didn't have. To him, it was like blocking the attacks of a paraplegic librarian, simple.
"Oh right, because i'm going to really feel the need to fight you in a manner that gives you a chance to win. Even if my ego was that fragile, do you think i'd care about the opinion of some teenager who's claim to fame is screwing some red skinned demon freak?"
As he moved from defense to offense, striking out with both the tonafa a la David Cain and with a side kick to her knee with the style of the Bronze Tiger, he kept one eye on Black Canary. Now she was a smart fighter, she'd try and hit him only when she thought she had an advantage. Heck she was prolly throwing the little girl to the wolves just hoping that Prometheus would slip up. Fat chance. Sorry Deathstroke, but you're daughter dies tonight.

Canary lets Raven and Prometheus go for a little while before steping in. The kid looked like she needed a break. She hits him with a series of attacks blocking most of his.
"so how has your stay been in Gotham been so far?" She grins and throws a roundhouse at his head.

Rose Wilson Posted: Jan 6, 2007 2:55 PM
The first thing Rose felt was… well pain. And it freakin’ hurt. The helmeted freak nailed her pretty good. Getting up and rubbing some blood off her lips she glared as Prometheus talked about Kid Devil.
She slipped her swords into their holders on her back pulled out a gun from her boot and began to rapidly fire at him. “Shut up! Don’t talk about Eddie!!” she hissed using her free hand to whip out a dagger and swing it in his direction.
And then— WHAM! “Ouch…” Rose choked out as he nailed her to the ground her hair covering her face.
She’d kick his ass if he didn’t have that damned helmet on. Maybe if she could get to it? Maybe… yea screw that. He had too many fighting styles and could catch her before she got close. Black Canary stepped up giving Rose a moment to think. She wasn’t a tactician like her father… that was a weakness. And so was her anger. How could she use it to her advantage and kick this guys ass?

Wonder Girl Posted: Jan 6, 2007 3:07 PM
Cassie was starting to feel tired. Burning buildings, dying people and constant explosions. Villains, OMACs, and sheer fear ran through out the streets of Gotham. Helping a few people from a collapsing building over to the ambulances, Wonder Girl took to the sky rubbing her hand against her head.
She had a big headache. She was considering taking a small break when she heard a voice. A frightened priest was waving his arms over his head shouting to get her attention. “WONDER GIRL! Ov'r here! Please I need yer help, there are some wounded children back in this alley and I don't think they've got much time!” he called out in a very thick southern accent.
‘Oh that poor priest…’ she thought flying towards him. ‘Sounds like he came up for a nice holiday and got this…’
“I’m coming sir! Hang on!” Cassie said pulling her blonde hair behind her. She landed in front of him looking around.
“Are you alright sir?” she asked, her costume tattered and her hair sticking out in a few places. There was dirt and blood over her as she leaned against her knees feeling exhausted.
“Can you take me to the children? Are they okay?” she questioned, her body aching all over as she breathed. ‘Ouch…’

"Wel now aren't you just the sweetest thing, runnin over here ta help lil ol me. You really do play the part of hero quite well girl."
She was tired, no beyond tired she looked exhausted. An honorable opponent or one with alot of pride would let her go, would only fight her when she was at her best. Luckily Caleb didn't believe in any of that nonsense. Dead was dead, didn't make no never mind to him how it got to that point.
"I'm powerful sorry about having to lie to you, it is never fun to break a commandment is it? There are no wounded children over here, just dead ones. I know this cuz I don't leave wounded. I make sure my girls are dead, just like all good girls should be. Which reminds me, I just remembered why I called ya over."
Without any further warning then that, he lashed out with a right uppercut that could crumple a tank. Some would wonder why it was that the former priest called Caleb was filled with such evil and felt such joy from killing women. However it was a question even Satan himself couldn't answer, it was just one more thing in a universe filled with unknowns. The important thing, was that he possessed a cunning wit and a single minded obsession to a goal. These things coupled with the dark magic the flowed in his body, the same magics that fed his strength and invincibility which were given to him by the demon Neron and were directed towards targets chosen by that same demon, made him a worthy foe for any hero. But for a tired hero caught off guard?
"That's the proper way to treat a dirty jezebel like yerself girl. A firm hand, or two both wrapped around your neck to snap it. But we'll get to that soon enough. First I've got to beat the sin out of you."

Wonder Girl Posted: Jan 7, 2007 7:33 AM
Standing up taller, Cassie was prepared for the man to take her to some trapped kids. She started to get more and more worried, confused and afraid the longer she listened to this man. The way he was talking about lying and murdering… wait? Was he not a holy man? This wasn’t making sense.
“Wait… what’s going on? I don’t understa—”and she was cut off by a powerful force of pain. She had been prepared to save some children and help this man. She was not prepared to get a right uppercut that could crumple a tank thrown in her face.
“OUF—!!” Something cracked and she flew backwards.
The young Amazon skidded back several feet and crash landed into the alley wall sliding down to the bottom where she rubbed her jaw with immense pain running through it. Her hair tossed itself in front of her eyes and she felt the coppery taste of blood running down her lip.
Looking up with weary eyes, Cassie stumbled to her feet with little to no grace using the wall for slightly support. Smearing her hair onto her sweating face Cassandra looked back at her opponent with confusion. He had just hit her. He had just hit her hard.
But… he looked so… normal… how could that be?
“Who are?!” she demanded grabbing her electrifying lasso in her bloody fists, she slouched due to exhaustion. “What do you want with me?”

Caleb Posted: Jan 7, 2007 9:09 AM
As the young girl went skidding back, Caleb crossed his arms behind him and walked towards her calmly, a strangly soothing smile on his face. Well she was a little stronger then he thought, he had assumed half the strength of Wonder Woman. If she wasn't layed out flat from that when she was tired she must be closer to her mentors strength then he thought. Now he felt very relieved that he attacked now when she was weak. Now that was some good timing.
"You know I just love it when my victims ask me that. They always seem to think that knowing the who and the why will give them some kind of power. Or maybe they know they're dying and just want a few more moments of life. Either way I don't much know. The who is Caleb, used ta be Father Caleb but when you burn down your church with your whole congregation in it, the Vatican tends to take away your titles. As for the why, well ya see I'm doing the Lords work. Which, as it is, involves killing you specifically."
Stopping a few feet from her, he sniffs the air around him as if a strange new scent had caught his attention. This was a little trick he'd pull sometimes with those that he had some background on. Since his master had given him a bit of background on all of the targets that he had been 'paid' to remove, Caleb was aware that Wonder Girl had once had a relationship with Superboy. And if Caleb knew women, he knew that she had let him have his way without so much as a how do ya do.
"I can smell the stench of sin on you girl, just like all of your kind. You're dirty through and through. Let me guess, you whored yourself to that soulless clone before he was killed didn't you? Least I hope it was before and not after. The Lord doesn't smile on what you've done, it's my job to remove you."

Wonder Girl Posted: Jan 7, 2007 9:26 AM
As Cassie’s head spun from the headache her new enemy had given her, she silently started to reach for her communicator. She might need back up with this one. He was as strong as anything and he just didn’t sit well with Cassie.
‘So he used to be a father… burned his church and… wants to kill me? What did I do?’ she asked herself gripping her lasso tighter. This nut case was going down.
“Look, I don’t care if you were the Pope. I’m taking you down. You and your ‘Lord’ are obviously not one the right side of the law. Just to warn you… you won’t catch me off guard this time…” Cassie threatened, eyes narrowing as the blood continued to drip from her lip.
Calling upon the lightning power of Zeus for her lasso, Wonder Girl felt the warm sensation around her finger tips almost giving her an extra boost of strength. She smirked slightly. She fry this guys butt good. He had no idea how much power her lasso could handle.
She was about to charge when she felt her heart drop. ‘How does he know about Conner?’ she wondered. The lump in her throat reformed like it always did when she thought of him but sorrow was quickly replaced by pure anger and hatred when she heard the next things to come out of his mouth.
He was calling her a whore. He was mocking her. And worst of all, he called him soulless. A soulless clone. He insulted Conner. No one did that. No one.
“SHUT UP YOU SICK BASTARD!” Cassandra curse, jolts of electricity dancing around the palms of her hands where she held her lasso. It wasn’t often she cursed, she rarely did in fact. But no one talked about Conner like that.
“HE WASN’T A SOULLESS CLONE YOU SICK FREAK! HE HAD MORE SOUL THAT YOU WILL EVER HAVE!! TALK ABOUT ME ALL YOU WANT! CALL ME A WHORE!! BUT DON’T YOU DARE TALK ABOUT HIM! EVER!!!!!” Cassie screamed swing her lasso towards the man and charging head on at him.
She planned to hit him so hard, she’d knock him to next year.
With a swift and sharp raw punch, Wonder Girl aimed for his head. She was going to pound some sense into him.

Caleb Posted: Jan 7, 2007 9:52 AM
Well, this was different.
He had seen alot and done alot more. Caleb had walked with demons and been to the depths of hell. There wasn't alot in this world or the next that surprised him. However he really didn't see this explosive rage, he really didn't. As such, he was unprepared to defend himself, let alone try and block her strike. Which ment he suddenly became very familiar with the wall on the far side of the alley. Shaking his head to clear out the cobwebs, he pulled himself to his feet. Well, the girl had some anger to her, that could prove interesting.
"I can't remember the last time a woman hit me that hard. Congratulations. But you seem upset, come here and lets see if I can't find some way to comfort you. Perhaps send you on to hell to meet your lover."
Time to take the kid gloves off, he went easy on her last time because he was a firm believer in waste not want not. But now? He was going to waste all across her face. Charging at her, he grabbed a large chuck of debris, the Gotham landscape was littered with it, and sent it hurling at her as a normal man might throw a baseball. She would block it or not. If she didn't, then he'd finish the job. If she did, he'd see how fast she was. Running up almost directly behind the small boulder, he lashed out with a right jab and then a left cross, with the full intent of making her bleed behind each fist.
