"well at least they aren't broken...what kind of jackass puts barbed wire on a baseball bat anyway?" She joked slightly trying to lighten the mood. "took a couple of good shots to my left leg as well but I don't think its broken"
"I know i'm hard headed and I am truly sorry for everything that has happened tonight...and before, it was not my intention to go out tonight and get my ass kicked, not really sure how it got out of control so quickly, You know I hate being the damsel in distress and i'm sorry you had to watch it all..." Dinah hated the fact that she had hurt her best friend like this and she realized that she really wasn't any better than ollie in that sense.
"I shouldn't have left, I should have stayed and just dealt with it, but I don't know where I would be right now if I hadn't left, at least I was able to get some of that anger out of me during the intensive training I threw myself in, but I should have at least checked in with you, I know that and I can't take that back."
I'm just so tired of being so angry with everything and hurting....I didn't want to bring anyone else down with me. We've already got one downer in the group, we don't need another Helena...." She shifted slightly in attempts to once again win the ever losing battle of trying to get comfortable.
"I promise I won't destroy my coms again...."
She looked over at Charlie as she saw the young girl walk into the room. The look of concern on her face made Dinah feel even worse.
"don't worry kiddo....you should see the other guys...." though it was a lie hopefully it would at least make her feel better.

Zinda had disappeared down the hall into Dinah's bedroom to retrieve one of her pillows for her. If anything, the least she could try to do was make her comfortable.
As she made her way back, she gently bopped Charlie over the head with the pillow she was carrying as a sign to 'Move ova, sistah!' so she could squeeze by.
She stopped to give her a quick squeeze of a hug. "I heard you moved back in! Is it a permanent thing this time?" she said asked, her ever-cheerful tone pushing through. If anything they were going to need her perkiness.
"You still owe me a game of Gin, Little Miss--! Don't you think i haven't forgotten."
Menuvering around Charlie and Arrow she made her way back to Dinah and propped her legs up a bit. "I hope this helps ya. I got this weird feeling you're gunna be on bedrest for a bit."

Everyone was just moving so...fast.
Seconds ago, Charlie was enjoying the sleep of angels, forgetting all about life's troubles and catching some well needed rest. Now, suddenly, Green Arrow is alive, Black Canary is back from an apparent mission, and both of them seem to look like hell. Was she still dreaming?
Eitherway, Charlie finally hoped out of bed (still wearing whe shirt and shorts from her Misfit costume as she walked back Green Arrow and almost into Zinda, immediatly going to help Dinah as well. She had a million questions, but it became apparent that no one had the time to answer any of them. When barbara asked her to help Arrow, she hesitated for a moment before catching herself nodding.
"Oh, um...yeah. Okay."
Stepping up right next to Green Arrow, Charlie reached over and picked up a nasel strip for him, facing him with it in her small, slightly trembling hands.
"Is it...okay if I put this on you?"
Unpeeling the back, Charlie slipped it over Oliver's nose, setting it back into place, and beginning the process of healing. Charlie also picked up some medical gause and handed it to Oliver as a means to stop the bleeding. Considering that he seemed to be the only one not focused on Dinah, Charlie figured he would be the best person to talk to.
"So...what happened to you?"

Red hair. Freckles. Teenager.
What was it about being a cranly, left wing, old man that always seemed to draw the teenagers.
Eitherway, Oliver quickly noticed just how out of place the young girl seemed to be. Was she one of Barbara Gordon's soldiers? Was she a bird? Did she have superpowers? Was she a superhero? Was she an intern, here for college credits? Eitherway, she seemed like a nice enough kid, tending to his facial injuries, so he wasn't going to give her a hard time.
"Me? Well..."
All in all, Oliver was still pissed off. The guilt and hurt he felt just moments ago all but washed away, as a fighting stick to the back of the knee is pretty ideal for keeping focus on what really is important in life. his eyes gazed over to Barbara, who was still with Dinah. He'd never met a beating like that before, much less from a woman with...disabilites such as her. he felt like a fool, forced to take a beating all in the effort to learn a lesson that he already knew. Still, he wasn't in the mood to badmouth her.
"...a little gang land beating down in the ghetto of Gotham. Nothing to concern yourself about..."
Oliver reached down and put his dominoe mask back on, hiding his bandage, eyes, and once again, any emotion he had. He took the gaze and pressed it against his nose as he pulled his hood back up.
"Thanks kid...."
With his trusty bow in hand, he walked past Charlie, then past Barbara, Zinda, and of course, Dinah. The point to make Oliver understand that he wasn't alone almost seemed lost on him. After all, if your friends beat the living stuffing out of you, maybe it would be better to try your luck with your enemies.
"...and thank YOU for the ice, Oracle. Always a swell time to visit the lair of the world famous Birds of Prey, but I can't help but get the feeling that Im not really wanted for the moment. Call it a strange twinge. I always happen to get them during these awkward moments. Usually around the back of my knee....and my ribs....and the back of my neck....and my nose."
Classic Oliver Queen.
Keeping things...honest.

Barbara pulled a single piece of thread before cutting it and placing a row of butterfly bandages on Dinah's forehead. "You're telling me... thugs today are getting incredibly creative with their weapons. I'm just glad he didn't catch you wrong. This could have been a lot worse."
Inspecting her work, she bit her lip thinking about it. "It might leave a scar... but... you'll live."
Hearing the displaced shuffling, she turned, seeing Ollie attempting to make a break for the door. "Hold it."
She carefully pulled herself from the point where she had set up her make-shift infirmary and wheeled herself over to the point where she recently had her standoff with him moments before. "You're not leaving in your condition.
"WHERE are you going to go?" she pushed herself forward, her eyes attempting to look past his mask, searching for any type of facial expression in response to anything that she said.
She was annoyed with him. She didn't hate him.
"Look..... Oliver-- I know I'm probably not your favorite person right now, but you've got to hear me when I tell you you ARE wanted. Not in the... Bounty Hunter sense either--"
A joke. A failed attempt to lighten the mood.
No one would probably even pick up on that either.
"--why else would I take the time to lecture you when I know damned well that you don't need to hear it?"
Oh yeah. She knew.
It didn't take a genius...
She sighed. "Sit down, please... "

As Zinda's pain killer fully kicked in Dinah was feeling good, drunkenly good. at the mention of bed rest she quickly reacted.
"Bed rest....no I don't need bed rest i'm fine" before Zinda could react Dinah manged to get herself up and off of the bed.
"see perfectly fine" she said as she staggered slightly her eyes a little glazed over. "no bed for me" she smiled and took a step towards Ollie. as soon as she put some weight on her left leg it seemed to give way, her momentum pushing her into Ollie's arms who thankfully caught her.
taking a moment to regain her balance she looked up into Ollie's eyes. "you smell like the pier at low tide" she said making a funny face.
But the smell wasn't enough to keep her from wrapping her arms around him and burying her head into his chest. Something about it felt safe, it felt like home.
"i've missed you..." the muffled statement came out quietly but loud enough to hear.

Once the bleeding from his nose had finally stopped, Oliver looked down at Oracle, forced to raise an eyebrow.
Who the hell did this woman think she was?
Oh yeah. Kicking the living crap out of him in the effort to make an example for a fact he already knew. That's certainly the way to show just how much he was 'wanted'.
Green Arrow was ready to give Oracle one hell of a tongue lashing. He had held so much frustration, fear, and anger inside for so long that it was jsut dying to be unloaded. He wanted to tell her exactly where she could stick those fighting sticks of hers before marching out the front door, his head held high, and deciding exactly where he was going to go next in life.
That was when it happened.
The hug heard around the world.
He could tell that Dinah was feeling rotten. She had every right to be. Between the two of them, they felt like hell, and neither looked any better for the ware. But in Oliver's eyes, Dinah was still a goddess. Even after eveything that was done and said, he still thought the world of her. When she made the comment on his smell, he couldn't help but smirk.
"Well, yeah. A cot at the docks could do that to a person."
When she wrapped her arms around her, he was a little caught off guard. First she wanted to consider him dead. Now, they were embracing. Eitherway, Oliver didn't want to waste time worrying about how he got to this situation. All that mattered was, he was there. Dropping his bot to the feet of Charlie, Arrow wrapped his arms around his PRetty Bird, embracing her in a hug. He nuzzled against her long, blonde hair for a moment before closing his eyes and rested his head on her shoulder.
Everything that had come before. All the pain. All the torture. All of it was totally worth it, just for this moment.
"...yeah...I've missed you too, Pretty Bird."
Oliver Queen and Dinah Lance.
Til' death do they part...

In that moment all of Dinah's anger and pain melted away. She had missed him so much. Dinah didn't want to leave the embrace for fear he would leave her again.
She stayed there for a few minutes enjoying the embrace before finally breaking it.
"You better not disappear on me again or next time I'll kill you myself" she put her hand on his chest and propped herself up a little so she could look into his eyes.
"I mean it. I can't do this again"
"why don't you go take a shower why I let them finish looking over me and then you will let Oracle take a look at you and fix what she broke"

Slightly confused, she watched as Dinah forced herself up from where she had been laying. "Uh-- Dinah, sweetie? I don't think that you should be--"
Zinda's boots clicked against the hardwood floor as she tried to chase after her.
"I'm pretty sure that's just the pain meds making you feel 'fine.' You REALLY should take it easy--!" She stopped quickly enough when she saw her take a tumble right into Ollie's arms.
Despite Ollie's worse-for-wear state, she was honestly surprised that he was able to catch her like he did.
Zinda was always a sucker for romance. And the way that Ollie and Dinah found themselves caught within the moment almost seemed like something right out of a movie.
She couldn't help but find herself smiling like a dope at the situation in front of her. "Aww... isn't that--"
That was when she felt a tug on the sleeve of her jacket. "--Wuh??"

The moment Dinah bounced her body off the medical table, she groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose. Why couldn't there just be one night? ONE night where everything went semi-normal and no one was trying to run off while they were still greatly injured and just needed to sit still for a few hours.
Then again... all of them-- Bruce, Dick, Tim, Helena-- they ALL had that trait. If they were hurt, the moment they were patched up, they were ready to get back out there and get back to work. It was a noble trait. Sometimes that noble trait tended to back fire more often than not.
"Dinah--? I think Zinda has some valid points. You really--"
What did Zinda say?
She pulled on Zinda's jacket sleeve once she was close enough to get her attention. "Pain killers--? What exactly did you give her?"

Zinda shifted her weight and looked back down to Barbara.
Was she in trouble?
Oh. How she didn't want to be in trouble. Especially after what she had just witnessed what she did to Ollie not too long ago.
But.. would Babs really whack some added sense into her?
Yeah. Yeah, she would.
But if she did, it would be out of love. At least... that's what she kept telling herself.
"I just gave her something to take the edge off on the ride over." she explained. "I gave her a something a little stronger than the norm, because she REALLY didn't look so hot."
She was being honest!
"I pitched her the bottle of Norco that I keep handy in the Aerie along with the antibiotics you keep stored in there for special occasions."

Barbara watched Zinda as she spoke. If there was one thing she really did appreciate about the woman, other than her loyality, and incredible piloting skills, it was her honesty.
"Norco..." she repeated to herself, more than a response to Zinda. Her eyes turned back to her now loopy and banged-up Canary that seemed in an entirely good mood.
At least Dinah wasn't in a BAD mood. A bad mood probably would have really made matters a lot worse.
"She shouldn't be acting this loopy. You DID only give her ONE, right?"

"Ummm...." Zinda smiled sheepishly back to Barbara as she casually rubbed the back of her neck. "I... kinda passed her the bottle. I thought she was only going to take one."
She knew she caught herself in a huge mistake. She really should have just passed Dinah one pill earlier instead of the whole bottle. A huge wave of guilt seemed to rush over her. "She may have taken more than one. I'm REALLY sorry, Skipper." she said to Barbara, her blue eyes pleading.
"I was just so worried about getting them back to you... I really didn't think.
"I'll be more keen to watch it next time."
She sighed, looking back to Dinah and Ollie. "Is she took two.. it really shouldn't hurt her THAT bad, right? Wouldn't that mean that the effects would just be double the strength?"

Barbara's eyes went wide. She made sure to keep a handle on the pitch of her voice, keeping it moderately quiet so as not to freak Dinah out. Though, she had a feeling that Dinah was too loopy to even hear what was going on with anything beyond her immediate circle. "You GAVE her the WHOLE bottle??!"
She really couldn't put too much blame on Zinda. She was only trying to help the cause. "It's.... okay.." she breathed finally. "It shouldn't be too bad for her, no." she said after a moment. "She might feel a little nauseated after the full effects wear down, but she should be fine."
Barbara couldn't help but smirk at the situation. "If she can manage to keep Ollie here for a while longer it would really help him out. It would give him a chance to rest while he heals up... and I'm sure it'll keep Dinah in a truly elated state."
She turned her chair to head back to clean up the area of med supplies. "It's probably the best thing for the situation right now. Good job, Zinda."

Oliver continued to hold Dinah in his arms, but he wasn't a fool. he could tell something about her was...different. It wasn't just working through the pain. There was a glint in her eyes. Something that simply seemed a little off.
With a gentle smile, Oliver leaned in, listening to her words. He knew that they came from the heart, but to judge her by either actions or statements would be ill-advised.
"Dinah...my sweet, sweet Dinah..."
There was so much to tell her. So much he wanted to tell her. Ever since he faked his death and began living a new life in the gutter of Gotham, he had so many stories to tell, and experiences to share. But now clearly wasn't the time...Soon, but not now.
Instead, Oliver gave Dinah a gentle kiss on the forehead.
"I can promise you, Pretty Bird, Im not going anywhere...but right now, we need to get you back off your feet. Think you can come with me back to the bed? I'll sit with you as you get some rest. Scouts honor."
As he spoke, he looked over to Zinda, then back to Oracle. Oracle still wasn't his favorite person in the world at the moment, but they both had a common goal in wanting what was best for Dinah, so for now, he would put his anger aside and focus on a much more acceptable (and much more prefered) emotion:
Love.
Love for his Dinah.
