Heroes: Black Canary, Oracle, Jason Blood/Etrigan
Villains: Sandman (OC villain made for this story)
Sleep was never an easy thing when it came to the cyber goddess. When it did come it was usually fended off by a few minutes of catnaps in between com calls in her chair.. in front of the computer. At least then, she would be able to respond quickly to any hail that came her way.
This time, was different, however.
Barbara lay cozy in her bedroom, with her north window open, carrying in a breeze scented with eucalyptus and grapefruit.
Metropolis was entire unlike Gotham in every way. And getting use to the peace and quiet was taking some getting use to. It was nice... especially the new view the Delten tower gave.
As Barbara lay asleep her body thrashed. Quick left and then right, almost as if she were fighting off an attack...
In her dream world Barbara saw herself able bodied and walking. In front of her was a man, brandishing a rather large sword. Dressed in black with a pair of black sunglasses on he ran forward, drawing his sword and bringing it down mid air.
Armed with only a batarang, Barbara sprung herself into the air, performing a frontward somersault over her attacked and spun her body around, slamming the batarang's sharp blade into the back of his shoulder.
The man in black dropped to his knees, but spun around, slicing with a quick move at her legs,. bringing her to the ground instantly, sitting in a pool of her own blood.
She cried out feeling the pain rush through her.
Transferring her dream's pain to her waking body she screamed out, clutching her bedsheets.
She couldn't feel her legs in her waking life, but yet while dreaming they were encased in searing pain? What sense did this make?
"I know who you are...." hissed the man as he pulled the batarang from his back. dropping it to the floor.
"You need to know.. I'm WATCHING you GORDON."
With his hand reaching out, he enclosed it around Barbara's neck and took his sword, showing it to her. With a wicked smile, he pressed the tip of the blade into her shoulder allowing it to dig further and further into her skin.
Another scream both in her dream and to her waking body before she bolted awake.
Her forehead now beading with sweat along with a wet mark over her left shoulder.
She sat up and turned on a light, taking notice that her shirt was stained with a bit of blood.
What just happened??
Confused and slightly scared, she grabbed a hold of her wheelchair and made her way out into the main room, heading toward the computer room to her console. "Enough sleeping for one day..." she muttered, shaken.
